    How mushy do the tomatoes get? I love tomatoes, but the texture of cooked whole tomatoes isn't always something I enjoy.

    Coincidentally, I had tomato pie tonight when we went out to eat. I loved it! For some reason, I thought the tomatoes would be green. The crust had basil in it and I could tell it was made with oil. It was topped with feta and kalamata olive slices. Very good stuff!

    They don't get that mushy, especially if you let them drain long enough in the colander.

    OK, I think I'll have to try this. :) All I need is some bacon and pie crusts. I picked up tomatoes at the farmers market and I have fresh basil onhand.
