I picked up tomatoes at the farmers market and I have fresh basil onhand.

My Saturday project is set! lol

Re: A taste of heaven

We are going to try your recipe either tonight or over the weekend, using our homegrown tomatoes. Thanks for sharing it!

Re: A taste of heaven

They don't get that mushy, especially if you let them drain long enough in the colander.

Re: A taste of heaven

Coincidentally, I had tomato pie tonight when we went out to eat. I loved it! For some reason, I thought the tomatoes would be green. The crust had basil in it and I could tell it was made with oil. It was topped with feta and kalamata olive slices. Very good stuff!

Re: A taste of heaven

How mushy do the tomatoes get? I love tomatoes, but the texture of cooked whole tomatoes isn't always something I enjoy.

Re: A taste of heaven

My dad made this after I pointed him to here the first time.
You are really cool, if you didn't know.
It takes a lot to impress my dad.
:)
