I LOVED Optimist doughnuts until high school. I became a member of the Octagon club, which required us to work a few shifts in the booth. I made myself sick!! I've never quite felt the same about them.
It's SO hot in there too with all the frying oil! Those people deserve a medal this year!

i don't know if it is the same thing, but erin spoke at an optimist club meeting a few months back. until then we had never heard of such a group. certainly not their doughnuts.

I'm sure that it's part of the same nationwide organization, but I think the donuts are just a local thing. I don't think that the Optimist Clubs in other towns necessarily sell donuts at their fund-raising events, and if they did they wouldn't necessarily be the same donuts.
